powerful...

Can I be brutally honest?
I had a full plate, still do.... and a long, long list of things left undone.
Clients calling, e-mails pouring in, deadlines looming.
Can you relate?
Anyone else in complete denial that it's December?
But I decided to say yes, drop it all and go.
And I am so glad I did; God clearly wanted me there.
Some of the Divine Divas (our prayer group) went to prepare and serve at The Harvest Center.
It's always such a powerful experience.
I think we served over 200 people...sweet folks who have fallen on hard times, some who are homeless.
Adults and children.
 powerful!
And isn't it always the case?  We think we are going there to bless others,
when in fact, they bless us far more than we could ever dream.
Looking into their eyes, full of hope and gratitude, despite their circumstances.
It is heart-wrenching really...
to witness so many who are in need, who are searching for a break,
craving normal, craving the basics....food, shelter, clothing.
What a pleasure to serve with these sweet friends.
I hope you can hear them singing and praising.
Again, so powerful.
Then afterwards we headed to The King's Kitchen
I have written about this amazing restaurant before.
Delicious and serving more than lunch, serving those in need too.
You can read more about that here.
If you are in Charlotte, you must go eat there.
Get the meat and three veggies....amazing and as good or better than your grandmother's cookin'.
How about that for decor...powerful.

Special day with friends trying to be the hand and feet of Jesus.
Slowing down this time of year can be so challenging but we're so glad we did.
We need to do more of that, more often.
We missed those of you who couldn't join us today...
Thank you friends for such a special time.
What are you doing to slow down and serve during the mad rush in December?
Would love to hear your thoughts.
xoxo,
Caroline
P.S. My birthday is this Friday and so I am going to be giving YOU gifts.
Yippee! It's really so much more fun to give than receive, isn't it?
We'll be having a big give away over the weekend here so stay tuned!
