So yesterday I shared here that during my recent visit to Kansas,
I was fortunate to squeeze in a great trip somewhere wonderful.
If you've never heard of Nell Hill's.
you are about to have a feast for the eyes...
Her stores are sanctuaries filled to the brim with lovely home decor.
I honestly don't think I have ever been in a shop where I loved every single thing, until now.
And what a treat! I got to meet Mary Carol as soon as we arrived.
She is so incredibly gifted in retail and interior design...it's mind boggling.
Jean, who brought me there, is a friend and was responsible for developing and publishing
I went away with this one she kindly signed for me called Feather Your Nest.
Step by step and twig by twig, Mary Carol encourages homeowners to discover what design works for the way they really live, and then to carry that theme throughout the home. Using her own experience in fixing up her 130-year -old Greek Revival home as a starting point, we learn how Mary Carol carefully selected and layered all of the parts piece by piece. She then takes us into four very different homes to apply the same techniques of design. Readers visit a ranch remodel, traditional colonial, English Tudor, and country cottage as Mary Carol empowers readers to feather their own nests by developing a sense of personal style.
Photos of Jean's home is even in this book....so pretty!
It's filled with smart ideas on decorating and finding your style.
Mary Carol has three locations...all in Kansas.
We went to the 16,000 square foot Briarcliff Village location.
When Mary Carol has "open houses" and special events, I hear that folks fill chartered busses to come from far away. You'll have to check out some of her video clips about that here.
So really no words are needed here...
just enjoy these amazing rooms and let me know what you think and if you've ever been
or would love to go there someday.
So what did you think? Amazing, right?
Gorgeous, right?
I told Mary Carol I would send you all there!
Oh how I wish she'd bring one to Charlotte!
What was your favorite peek?
Blessings,
Caroline

Thanks for sharing! Look for my own post about your pictures tomorrow on http://www.designpostdaily.com
ReplyDeleteI wish I could see it in person!
Oh, I think I would have been too overwhelmed. Save me a seat on the bus if you charter one for an open house! I am not sure if Charotte needs one or not... I would get in trouble spending too much in there! Thanks for sharing and letting us drool!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my...totally great! I have the urge to re-arrange! Love the sock monkeys! :)Wish it was closer!
