Architectural inspiration in our nation's capital

Besides the amazing monuments which of course we all love,
I snapped some photos of architectural elements which caught my eye
during our recent trip to Washington, DC

Happy designs, great color, peeling paint, texture......loved it!

We had a blast in Washington even though we were only there 24 hours before we headed to Maryland.
A few other highlights...

and the entire set here.
and our visit to the precious town of St. Michaels, Maryland here.
xoxo,
Caroline

    Hi my sweet,
I am the (big boss') assistant of the Administration of Infrastructure for the french part of Belgium and work for architectural quality for the cultural, sport, administration buildings and also the schools. So, I really appreciate your post about the architectural inspiration as I daily work with architects and designers for gardens also.
Here are some pictures of the famous royal Greenhouses, the Japanese pavilion and the Chinese pavilion.
I don’t know if you know Horta, the famous architect with his Art Nouveau, I’m sure you’ve heard of him à http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Horta
I live near the Hotel Tassel (see Wikipedia picture). Very beautiful! And Brussels is full of these style Horta or Horta building .
Thanks for sharing your pictures; I particularly love the one with Sarah Grace and her butterfly!
Lots of love for you all.
