introducing Gloria!

Meet Gloria everyone.
She's my lovely new friend I created for Surtex.
I found her precious figure in my favorite antique shop here
and knew I had to have her.
I wasn't quite sure what I planned to do with her
but was envisioning her swaddled somehow in my new fabric samples
and adorning a few feathered friends.
Poor Gloria looked like this when she was found.
Sad and old and unloved.
But all she needed was some creative spunk and some TLC.
I decided to Mod Podge her with hymns.
I wanted her to be covered in God's word at this show.
I want to be covered in God's word at this show too.
I placed some of my favorite hymns on her...
Be Thou My Vision (which was played at our wedding)
Here I Am Lord
This is the Day the Lord Hath Made and more
Isn't Gloria is so cute and sassy with her brown satin bow?

You want to hate her because she's perfect and skinny and glossy
but she never says an unkind word and she's covered in faith.
Plus she's flowing with creativity...for heaven's sake,
She has so many ideas, she will even have fabric birds in her head nest
and strung up above our booth.
You just have to love her.
My sweet and talented friend Lillian made the apron for Gloria
and is putting together the precious fabric birds too!
The giant flower is fabulous.... and it's such fun to see my fabric in action!
Can't wait for the sample yardage to arrive from Robert Kaufman!
The collections are supposed to launch July 1st...stay tuned!

So that's Gloria! She's going to NYC and will be my helper in the booth
then she'l return back to my studio but I haven't told her yet that I plan to borrow the apron!
What do you think about Gloria?
Would love to hear from you...
xoxo,
Caroline

  1. Glory be, Gloria , you are perfectly created to serve God. Who knows where you will go and who you will touch. You've already touched the creative talent in one .( your friend Caroline) God is using her too, you know.
Here you are for the Lord, this is the day He hath made, rejoice and be glad in it.
    Enjoy the show, Gloria.
