What a weekend!
My heart sank Friday morning as my alarm woke me with the news.
Our hearts are heavy for those in Japan with the recent earthquake and tsunami.
And thank you for your continued prayers for Sloan and her family.
One of my wonderful blog readers Nancy embroidered this beautiful pillow case for Sloan!
And another reader and local artist, Lauren, painted this of Sloan! LOVE it!
And Kelley painted this floral beautiful oil painting for Sloan!
And sweet Sharyn sent this paper cutting book with papers for Sloan and Kate to do together!
Sharyn is my artist friend here and is the author of this book!
Once again, thank you for your incredible generosity toward the Chambers family!
Please continue to pray for Sloan.
I am realizing more and more that each day is truly a gift.
So when Sarah Grace begged me again to make this princess cake
for no occasion other than just because....
I said yes.
No birthday, no certain occasion needed... just because life is a celebration.
William had baseball and lots of time with friends this weekend.
Walker had a college prep golf tournament and did quite well.
The girls had play dates and joined me in some outside painting on the patio.
And clever girl SG came up with this idea
to make flowers from stems and leaves and wire just from playing around in the back yard.
They also finished up their Leprechan traps for a school project...
how funny are these?
They took the project quite seriously and made ladders with sticks and wire
then taped the inside in hopes he'll get trapped inside!
My sister and her two boys surprised Douglas with this early birthday present!
She does not have an official name yet but is a full bred boykin spaniel
and will be a great hunting dog I am certain.
Isn't she darling?
We surprised Nan and Papa Joe with floor tickets to the Celtics game at the Garden!
And my parents enjoyed a beautiful weekend at Edisto...
Dad refinished all the wooden pieces on his boat!
Looks great Dad!
They went up a small creek and saw this old southern home fully restored.
Beautiful!
And this cupola is at Seabrook (Dodge) Plantation
and is where children used to wait for the boat to come and take them to school.
