art and love for Sloan

Hello again...
thanks for listening yesterday
So many of you sent such nice e-mails and messages because you too
have been touched in some way by nasty cancer...
a friend or family member, a neighbor, spouse or child.
Today...YOU, my sweet and kind-hearted faithful readers
have e-mailed and called locally and from other states offering to help the Chambers family.
My sweet friend Kate
has been a Multiple Blessings' fan and Designing for the Soul reader for a long time,
although I am sure she is not able to read this week.
Since you asked, I want to tell you what our Bible Study ladies are doing.
We have a basket started with things they will need at the hospital.
If you are so inclined and would like to help in any way we are collecting the following:
cards, letters, uplifting scripture,
magazines, books,
art for Sloan's hospital room,
small snacks, restaurant gift cards, Visa gifts cards, Harris Teeter gift cards.
Your prayers and written words will mean so much!
You can send them all to me and I will carefully deliver them as they trickle in.

I also know that may of you out there who read my blog are artists too.
My hope is that you will feel moved to send me some beautiful art for Sloan's hospital room.
She is expected to be in the hospital for a long time
and my wish is to go and cover her walls with beautiful and uplifting art
to make her feel more at home.
I created an original collage for Sloan's hospital room
and I used the scripture she chose for her confirmation last Sunday.
Psalm 66:1-2
Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of His name;
Make his praise glorious!
I will give you a peek of that very soon.
In the meantime, here are a few new originals which will be in
Cotswold Marketplace
starting this Wednesday afternoon.

And there's more...
If you have not been to Cotswold Marketplace and you live here in Charlotte,
please stop in and check out the beautiful home decor, accessories, and original art.
It's all so scrumptious!
And THANK YOU
for being the hands and feet of Jesus to the Chambers family!
xoxo,
Caroline

  1. Oh Caroline, you are so amazing! I have already mentioned to my girls this morning that an afternoon of art is planned. When are you planning on delivering the things we are able to put on your front porch? Also, what are some of Sloan's hobbies? And which hospital is she in? My fiend is in charge of the child-life specialist at Hemby and that is where the girls volunteered at Christmas.
Thank you so much for your openness yesterday. It helped me feel "normal" for feeling the same way recently... when you so kindly listened to me.
    Have a blessed day!!!

  2. Good for you...art in the afternoons is always fun. My kids are painting bookmarks for Sloan too and also painting small canvases for her wall. They want to help and this is one way they can. So sweet your family wants to help too. I am delivering things Friday morning but will continue to deliver more as letters and things come in.Trying not to flood them with too much stuff...just useful things for a long hospital stay.
Thank you everyone for being the hands and feet of Jesus!
