new year, new devotion!

We were ready for a new devotion so I gave this to them for Christmas.
I read it with the younger three after breakfast before they go to school
and my oldest is reading it on his own.
It kept being recommended over and over, and I am so glad I got it.
You can purchase it here.
I had been reading this one myself so I already knew about the author.
You can purchase this one here too.
Sarah Young is fabulous!

  1. Thanks for the suggestion, Caroline! We were just discussing devotions for kids in Sunday School this week. Someone recommended "Daily Devotions for Teenagers" but I'm not sure which one as I've found several! I personally like "Daily Light" which Deborah Harris gave to us last year. Have a wonderful New Year and so sorry to not be seeing you tomorrow!

  2. My girls get a new daily devotion Bible each year for Christmas and that is their highlight at bedtime. Either Rich or I (even the babysitters know to read it) snuggle in their bed and read that day's devotion and then discuss it. We have been through too many for me to list, some I have definitely liked better than others. I did just order "Jesus Calling"... I thought it would be great for me to read to all 3 at breakfast each morning (instead of watching Full House). Thanks for that recommendation!!!
Rich also started a new tradition with our kids last year. Each night, after devotions, either he or I pray out loud over each child. It is really awesome! I love that they hear us say praises about them, thank God for them and their talents and also pray for areas where they are struggling. They love it too... on the rare occasion that we might forget, they are very quick to remind us!
    Happy New Year!!!

  3. We read “Streams in the Desert for Kids”. As with the original, LB Cowman has updated it, I am so impressed with his ability and gift of applying the same scripture verse for every age imaginable. A real treasure and my kids really like it.

  5. Hi stranger!

Yes...My sister bought me Jesus Calling a couple months ago and it is such a refreshing devotional. I also just saw the kids version at Border's and plan to buy that to start off our New Year.
