Last week I had the privilege of assisting the art teacher at the elementary school.
Had a blast! I didn't want to leave...
She probably wanted to kick me out
because I kept lingering in awe of what the kids created.
They were studying organic lines
and the art teacher taught the technique of
not only making wiggly lines not able to be measured
running off the sides of the page
but she also taught them how to make the lines go over and under other lines.
Very cool.
It was challenging for some, easy for others, yet I marveled at how quickly they caught on.
William had already told his friends I am an artist so many kept asking me to do it for them.
With only guidance and encouragement from me they did it and even incorporated autumn words
into the organic design...a word that makes them think of fall/autumn.
Just look and see what they came up with...
leaf
color
candy
ghost
The next step is to trace them with a black Sharpie,
then use colorful markers to fill in the outside areas.
Can't wait to see the finished results!
Now these were examples the art teacher showed the kids.
These were done by kids a bit older that these 4th graders.
and in some cases they used action words like
jump
and shout
Fun to try at home too!
I want to make organic art, don't you?
Have a great weekend sweet readers!
Fingers crossed the designer page for Multiple Blessings should go live
Friday night if all goes well.
Pop over here this weekend and if you're super organized
and already have a good photo, you can order your Christmas photo cards
and in some cases matching gift tags, address labels, thank you notes, and mint tins!
and invitations
My entire collection is in the Studio Basics Collection.
soooooooooooooooo many to choose from!
xoxo,
Caroline
