Limeades and Key Lime Bites!

The summer heat is already here in the southeast
and I am always trying to keep the kids hydrated and cool when playing outside.
Of course water is best but sometimes it's fun to freshen up the snack routine!
The following can be fun for adults too if you know what I mean!
Limeades for the kids and margaritas for the adults.
Something about lime...(you remember HERE how I adore green?)
it's just so fresh and screams summer!
For the limeade slushies, just use frozen Minute Made Limeade
and mix according to the can with water and ice.
But I also add some sugar to make it not so sour for the kids.
You can also dip the rim of the glass in water and then in sugar
before you fill it which is fun too.
Add a silly straw to a fancy glass
and the kids will be thrilled and cool!
Then for a fun summer dessert and treat
try my sister's famous Key Lime Bites!
Mix sweetened condensed milk with lime juice and lime zest.
Amount depends on how much you make...
one can of sweetened condensed milk
will make at least 2 packages of shells. (15 per package)
Use as much lime juice as you like, according to your taste.
Stir and place in a large zip lock bag
and place in the refrigerator for a few hours until chilled.
Cut a small hole at one of the bottom corners of the
zip lock bag and use it as a pastry bag.
Squeeze key lime filling into the frozen Athens pastry shells,
place shells on a pretty white platter, and grate more lime zest on top.
Then serve your lucky guests!
If you like these, let me hear from you,
and I may share her recipe for Kahlua Bites!
Share the love...just like you are with the voting!
By the way, thank you to everyone for voting for me. Wow!
Multiple Blessings was "hot" but is now "on fire"
and voting continues HERE through September so keep the votes coming!
I am most grateful!

  1. Guess who voted? I left my comment with my most honest and sincere opinion of you.

As to the key lime bites, they look so yummy. How about a similar one for CHOCOLATE! Or your mom's pots de creme.

Working away over here in the chilly & rainy Northwest, thinking of you & wishing you so much joy a normal day can hardly contain it.

  2. Thanks for the votes! And for the very kind comment...my goodness!
Yes, you need to try the key lime bites. Chocolate would be yummy too and wait 'til you try the kahlua bites.
More rain here last night but it's made the flowers and plant so lush...so we're not complaining. Helps the water bill too since we don't have to water the plants!
    Have a grand day!
    xoxo
