Unfortunately I did not inherit my mother's amazing green thumb,
but I have a passionate love affair with flowers...
I love to look at them in awe and paint them!
Isn't this shot amazing? Great job Dad!
God is so good, so creative. Period.
Thought I'd give you all a peek into Lady's garden.
All her grandchildren call her Lady.
That's what we called my dad's mom too when she was living.
I love it! She loves it! The kids love it!
It's funny when we're out and about and the children call her that
and sometimes watching people react to them calling her "Lady" is hysterical to us.
Anyway....my dad took these amazing pictures and called the set Lady's garden.
When in fact, he has done much of the work and upkeep in the garden too...
so I guess it can be called Lady & Pop's garden.
The hydrangeas are INCREDIBLE after all the rain!
AMAZING!
Makes me want to get out drippy wet watercolors and mix violet right now!
Want to come over and paint?
A few more favorites...
Blueberries will be ready soon!
They are so delicious!
Tomatoes and peppers on the way...
Fresh herbs for cooking too.
One thing is certainly true, Mom always has fresh flowers cut in her house.
Always.
And they are almost always from her own yard.
It nearly kills her to pay for flowers but she will in the dead of winter
just because they bring her extra joy.

Which is your favorite picture?
Your favorite flower?
What are you planting and nurturing this summer?

ReplyDeleteHi Ali! yep...hydrangeas are my favorite too. Carried them in our wedding. They are so lush after all the rain and in fact hanging to the ground now from last night's storm...nevertheless, pretty!
ReplyDeleteGet back to blogging...it's fun!
