Yep, today was the last Mom's & Muffins of our Simas preschool years.
I have been attending these events for so long,
I actually teared up today realizing this was the final one.
They woke this morning with such zeal and excitement,
as if it were Christmas morning,
then chose their own clothes (fancy dresses)
...so porud to show me every detail of their TK classroom
and everything they have learned.
A quick painting before the party started...
Proud, glowing faces, grinning from ear to ear
as they served me muffins and lemonade.
Then the teachers did the cutest thing:
they showed a child's illustration of their mother but did not say who drew it, then they read aloud Mom Facts...and we had to guess which mom it was. The comments were so cute and funny!
I am evidently tall with dark hair (got that part right I guess) and then one of my girls said I was 15 years old, the other said I was 56 years old! They agreed my favorite food was salad. (they must have forgotten pizza and chocolate!)
And then...
At home, my mommy likes to...
watch baseball (funny, because I do that mostly AT the field, not at home)
play with me (awww, sniff, sniff!)
Then they gave us their wrapped gifts...
precious oven mits with fish hand prints!
These are the days, we must remember...I keep telling myself.
The days go so quickly.
The children grow so quickly.
And today I remembered this.
Every day is a gift and I must remind myself not to miss a minute of it,
because missing even a minute may mean we miss a memory.
Happy early Mother's Day to all of you mothers who read this.
And to my sweet mother
for being the ultimate mother and role model
for me to TRY and follow!
xoxo,
C
