How cool is this? You can try it HERE too! Just import photos from your computer into the program and Voila! I drew the PEACE SYMBOL myself in the program, but you can choose from their designs too...
like this HEART...
or this RECTANGLE...
I think it would be neat to make one for each kid. Walker turns 12 next week (yikes!) so I am making one just for him in the shape of a putting green and a flag. He obviously loves golf...
And speaking of pictures and watching children grow like the weeds in our yard, watch the following video which really reminds us that each day is a gift, even and especially the ORDINARY ones.
The music is a bit cheesy but you'll still love the message.
Hope you had your tissues ready! Sorry, should have warned you. Katrina Kenison's video really speaks to me as we have varying ages... a son almost 12, a son who is 9, and two 5 year old daughters. I see the almost 12 year old slipping quickly into adolescence and it is scary, sad, and exciting all at the same time. It is so hard to love them and then set them free. And yet we are called to...."Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6 Whew! No small task. As parents, we want to give them opportunities to grow, learn, and make their own mistakes. Wish there was a parenting course we could study for and pass and know that they would turn out to be all that we hoped and dreamed for them. No such thing, so we rely on our faith in God, and on our family and friends to guide us through.
Enjoy your ORDINARY day!

P.S. May I ask a favor? I would covet your prayers Friday morning for Sarah Grace's surgery...for wisdom and discernment for rested and skilled doctors and nurses; for Sarah Grace to have a calm heart and assurance and peace before she enters the operating room, for no fear or anxiousness, rather faith-filled hearts as we wait for our sweet 5 year old angel to come back to us without her tonsils and adenoids. With gratitude, I thank you...

Wow. That was beautiful and so true. YOU know my boys are still so young, however time never stands still and they will all be off to college someday ... sooner than we want. Thanks for sharing. I am sharing this on FB soon. Every mother of young children (who continually complains) must view this. Time with our young children is so precious. The only thing we have are memories and photos ... this is one of the many reason I photograph children. Capturing time. Enjoy your "ordinary" day, C. xo
ReplyDeletePrayers are with the surgeon, Sarah Grace and YOU ... tomorrow morning.
