Introducing...
FLEA MARKET STYLE MAGAZINE!
If you haven't seen this magazine yet, you need to check it out. It's brand spanking new and full of greatness. My mom taught me early on about the "fun" of flea markets. She taught me to appreciate the "thrill of the hunt" for a great bargain. But the item had to be for something you could mentally place in your home...meaning you can't just buy it because it's a good deal! She taught me how to politely "wheel and deal" and ask for their best price, even though it was already marked or marked down.

Amazing photography and great ideas all over the place... They are nice folks too! Linda MacDonald added my Multiple Blessings' website to their Friends List! Linda is the Editor-at-Large of the magazine and great writer of the popular decorating blog called Restyled Home. This is what she's known for:"creating stylish spaces on a realistic budget, re-purposing and tweaking the ordinary into the extraordinary, and showing her readers that style on a dime is both achievable and fun!"Love that! Especially the budget part!Matthew Mead is super talented! In addition to being Co-Editor of this magazine, he is a regular contributer to Better Homes and Gardens and Victoria Magazine. He also has a great website here. Then there's Ki Nassauer, also Co-Editor of the magazine. She's also founder and owner of Junk Bonanza and Junk Revolution. Neat! Here in Charlotte, NC, we are lucky enough to have Metrolina Expo. Many pieces in our home came from here and they all have a "story." I love that. I love that they were loved by someone else before I found them and loved them too.
I've bought colorful pillows...
Florentine trays...
100 year old frames...found 4 of them for each of the kid's portraits (all different frames but compliment each other)
bamboo bookshelves...
antique sideboard...
furniture and much more...Here's to the new Flea Market Style magazine and the fact that someone's trash can be another person's treasure!Blessings,Caroline
Hi Caroline--So glad you reminded me about this magazine! Also, I love those bamboo shelves in your home.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily! Knew you would like this post. I do love to go to Metrolina...haven't been in a while though! Maybe that's a good place for us to grab coffee and spend the day together! Sound fun?
ReplyDeleteWow, Caroline, what a great write-up about our magazine! Thank you so much for helping us spread the word!
ReplyDeleteNow, I just have to take a minute to wipe the drool off of my keyboard after seeing that gorgeous green cupboard!!
Cheers,
Linda
Hi Linda! You are so welcome...my pleasure! Funny! Yes, love the green...it's an old liquor cabinet...at least that's what they told me when I bought it. The top piece folds back and has some shallow storage and then underneath the main part we added a shelf and it holds our stereo and plasma equipment and hides all the messy wires!
ReplyDeleteI will continue to follow your inspiring blogs and magazine!
Blessings,
Caroline
