William recently had a moon project for 3rd grade...took forevaaaaaah! He had to complete a journal for an entire month about the appearance of the moon each night and do various
language arts activities about the moon. (write a poem, write dialogue between himself and the moon, journal observations, make a collage of the moon phases, etc.)
Have to admit, it was a great science review for me! And a bonus that his 5 year old sisters were very interested. So much so, that they begged to paint moon paintings along side him. We have about 16 moon pictures/paintings around the house so far!

Pretty easy because you just need large paper, a bowl, a pencil and some watercolor paints and your kids are "good to go" for this activity.
William wanted the effect of craters on the moon so I taught him how to thump the paintbrush with his fingers while it was wet with paint. Messy but easy...let your kids do this...promise they'll love it!
I SEE THE MOON AND THE MOON SEES ME,
GOD BLESS THE MOON AND GOD BLESS ME.
xoxo,
C
