Sweet Kate gave this to us at Bible Study today. Love it and wanted to share since I have mentioned my struggle with Halloween before. What a great perspective!
Date Night Surprise...
me: "Girls, Daddy just called from work and he is going to take you out to a special dinner on a date night!" "Won't that be fun?"
(insert lots of squeals and screams here...)
me: "What would you like to wear?" (thinking a skirt or dress from their closet)
girls: "Our Halloween costumes!" "And makeup too." "And your jewelry." "And your perfume."
me: "Ok, well...let's go get ready!"
(insert more squeals and screams here...)
Very happy I had the video running when he drove up. He had no idea it was a date night with Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). Special evening out together tonight and next time will be one on one. As I click photos like these I realize they are moments I want to capture and remember forever because it may never happen exactly this way again (especially when they are teenagers and likely wanting clothes I will not say yes to). And I love that at 4:00 today none of us knew this was going to happen. Sometimes the spontaneous moments are just the best! And I had a date night with my 9 year old to boot!
